Team Registration (2)
Assist participants with the check-in process.
Training: 1 conference call, 1 hour of on-site training day of tournament.
Volunteer Registration/Coordination (2)
Assist with volunteer check-in, meal distribution, and assist as needed throughout the day.
Training: 1 conference call, 1 hour of on-site training day of tournament.
Information Table (2)
Assist participants and spectators with information regarding the tournament program, schedules, site layout, and first aide/emergency procedures.
Training: 1 conference call, 1 hour of on-site training day of tournament.
Coat Check (4) *Please note: This position is not available at all tournaments.
Assist participants and spectators with storing their coats and umbrellas in a safe and secure area.
Training: 1 conference call, 1 hour of on-site training day of tournament.
Emcee/Play-by-Play Announcer (1)
Visible/audible host for the event Introduce teams, announce the scores, provide the play-by-play commentary to complement the projected video images.
Lead the opening and closing ceremonies.
Speak well, be enthusiastic and have knowledge about FIRST LEGO League and the season’s challenge and its rules.
Training: At least 2 conference calls, emails, and 1 hour of on-site training day of tournament.
Field Attendants (2)
Reset the competition tablesMove teams and robots quickly on and off the competition playing fields.
Training: At least 2 conference calls, pre-event training TBD, 1 hour of on-site training day of tournament.
Team Querer (2)
Communicate with the Pit announcer. Track which teams are on playing field, guide teams on deck, and direct them to the appropriate playing field.
Training: 1 conference call, 1 hour of on-site training day of tournament.
Time Keeper (1)
Operate the clock from the scoring table, reset the clock for each match, activate the buzzer at the close of each match, serve as score keepers assistant if needed and accessible.
Training: 1 conference call, 1 hour of on-site training day of tournament.
Score Keeper (1)
Enter the scores in to the computer from the referee’s score sheets after each match.
Rank the teams using the performance ranking/spreadsheet software and provides the list to for the closing ceremonies.
Training: 1 conference call, 1 hour of on-site training day of tournament.
Audio/Visual (2)
Operate sound system and/or video projection equipment throughout the day in the competition area. Background in audio/visual and/or video is preferred.
Training: 1 conference call, 1 hour of on-site training day of tournament.
Pit Administration (2)
Remains at the pit administration table throughout the day.
Assist Pit Manager, Runners, Team Queuers, and Practice Table Managers as needed.
Training: 1 conference call, 1 hour of on-site training day of tournament.
Pit Runner (2)
Assists the pit announcer with finding teams for queuing.
Escort teams from the Pit to the queuing area.
Training: 1 conference call, 1 hour of on-site training day of tournament.
Practice Table Manager (4)
Manage the days practice table schedule.
Clock and enforce the time allowance regarding all practice fields throughout the day.
Keep track of the waiting list or sign up list for practice time.
Training: At least 2 conference calls, pre-event training TBD, 1 hour of on-site training day of tournament.
